It’s no big secret if you’re a regular reader that keeping my acne in check is the bane of my beauty existence. I have tried a lot, a lot, a lot of products to this end. Since everyone’s skin is different, it is mostly trial and error to figure out what works with your body and general regimen. Plus, there are a lot of steps involved and every one counts – cleansing, masks, spot treatments, and occasional intensive products, plus of course non-irritating makeup. That being said, there’s no guarantee these products will work for you (obvi), but they have blown me away and I always keep them in stock.
One side note if you want to reduce your acne – drink some frickin’ water!! This should always be your #1 acne fighting “product.” In the last three months I’ve stepped up my water drinking habits and have already noticed that my skin is significantly clearer and smoother. If you have a hard time staying diligent about chugging H2O, try downloading an app like WaterMinder.
Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s begin:
This facial cleanser is awesome. I’ll regularly try other things, especially free products, but I always come back to this. It strips oils and yet is so gentle and doesn’t dry your skin out. Plus since the bar lasts so long, it’s quite affordable.
I’m not the first and I certainly won’t be the last to sing praises of this magic face scrubbing tool. If you wear makeup, it’s significantly more effective at taking it off than just a wash cloth. Plus, it makes your face so soft and opens up your pores after use so your skin can reap more benefits from your other skincare products.
I originally got this one as a sample and loved it so much, I splurge on the full size tube. The bad news is it’s expensive, but the good news it works big time and since you don’t need much product, it’ll last a while. It’s easy to use in the shower and is just the “therapy” your skin craves.
This one came well recommended from a guy friend working at a dermatologist office. It’s the best spot treatment I’ve used yet and is ideal for night time application (especially since it’s a bit pink). It’s quite affordable, although if you have regular acne, you’ll go through a bottle quickly.
Wowza. This is definitely my “desert island” skincare product. Despite the high price tag, this mask absolutely gets the job done. Even spot applications on a bad day makes my acne significantly better 12 hours later. I cannot recommend this mask enough.
