Ugh, is it really the end of the long weekend? Thank goodness there’s four days off in December! After spending Thanksgiving in the South Bay with my mom’s side of the family and cutting down a Christmas tree Friday morning, I drove back home to Berkeley and basically haven’t left the couch in three days. I absolutely consumed the sci-fi fantasy book Song of Scarabeaus and its sequel, then moved on to some of the Ilona Andrews fantasy novels I haven’t read, namely Burn for Me (which has a terrible cover photo, don’t judge me) and then the Edge series. I used to read so much when I was in grade school, but now sitting on the couch for three days straight is such a luxury. Thank goodness for my Kindle, which allows me to download fantasy book after fantasy book without going anywhere.
I picked up this new scarf two weekends ago at a local shop and I’m kind of obsessed. Normally this pattern and color combo would feel a little bit too bold and busy for my tastes, but I love the slightly Southwestern inspired style. Plus, it’s an infinity scarf, the first one I’ve owned, and now I suddenly see why people love them so much. The peacoat is from Jcrew, which I spent over $200 last year. It was expensive, but it should last forever. The boots are the same one I wore in this outfit, just rolled up. They’re so versatile!
Doesn’t Ru look like such a doofus here? This is the dog beach that I love to take her to near our house. I don’t normally think she looks very pit-bull-y, but when she’s panting and has that big ol’ smile on, she definitely looks a bit like a blockhead!
How was your weekend?
