Hello, everyone! It’s the first of the month, and that means it’s Stitch Fix day! This is my 12th box, which means I’ve now gone an entire year getting these boxes, and I have to say, I kind of love them. They’ve helped me stock up on a good supply of jeans, helped me break out of my comfort zone, and gave me more adorable gray sweaters than one woman needs. Special callout to my stylist, Ariann, who seems to really get my aesthetic (she even mentioned boho chic meets romantic in my card, which I think is definitely one of my go-to flavors).
For those of you who don’t know what Stitch Fix is, it’s a subscription box clothing service where for $20 a box, you receive a personal stylist who will send you a selection of clothes picked out specifically for you. Then, you keep what you want and return the rest, while the $20 down payment can be used as a discount against any clothes that you keep.
This month wasn’t quite as perfect as last month (but then again, last month was the first time I kept everything!). In fact, there were a few items that really missed the mark, but there was one that I really, really loved too, so it was all good.
Le Lis Ludo Cold Shoulder Top, $48 – Kept
I loved this top in the box and I loved it even more on! I was actually going out to a nice hipster-y restaurant the night I opened this box up, and I immediately clipped the tag and wore it out. This top perfectly fits a “hole” in my closet, which is a nice top for a night out, that still fits my boho and romantic style.
Market & Spruce Chaplin Hooded Anorak Cargo Jacket, $88 – Returned
A few months ago, I had requested an anorak jacket from my Stitch Fix, and I’m guessing this is the first time they got one in my size. I love that Ariann, my awesome stylist, remembered my request, but unfortunately I had already bought one myself, haha. This is cute, but I just don’t need more than one.
Market & Spruce Jenson Embroidery Detail Top, $44 – Returned
Just about the only thing I liked about this top was the great price. I am really not a fan of neon colors, and this one is no exception. I didn’t even need to try it on to know it was going back.
41Hawthorn Queensland Dolman Jersey Top, $48 – Returned
I had tried on a top like this in one of my first Stitch Fix boxes and really struggled with the cut. I’m not a huge fan of the “bat wings” style and the fit where it’s wide in the waist and tight in the hips doesn’t often look good with jeans. The price was great, but it just wasn’t quite right.
Level 99 Klara Printed Short, $98 – Returned
I had requested some shorts this month, hoping to get something a little tasteful and classy with a high-waist or lace instead of more jean booty shorts. While I love the cut on these, the print was too safari-esque for me, and I also wasn’t crazy about the steep price, so back they went.
What do you think – did I make the right decision this month?
